071 SDCC Schedules
Massive-Verse signing times! Plus, more on our TRULY MASSIVE upcoming announcement!
Hey everyone! Happy Friday!
We’re just under a week away from San Diego Comic Con and what is shaping up to be a jam-packed, action-filled show. Well, maybe not action-filled for me— I’ll probably be in a motorized scooter for most of it. But, I guess there’s been weirder car chases than that over the years. Hmmm…
Anyway! Our main panel, ENTER THE MASSIVE-VERSE, will take place on Friday at 11:45AM in room 6A— if you’re coming to the show, I highly recommend making it out to this one. It’s a panel filled with surprises, including our biggest announcement yet for The Massive-Verse. Seriously. You really want to see this one in person.
Oh, and we’ll have something special for everyone in attendance :)
We’ll also have a booth on the main show floor— #4901— where you’ll be able to find all sorts of limited edition exclusives, variant covers, prints, posters, book deals and even our brand new official C.O.W.L. badges!
And, if you’ve got your own stuff you’d like us to sign, I’ve got our official signing schedule for ya right here! Also, thrilled to announce that we’re going to be joined by Meghan Camarena (Radiant Pink) on Friday night!
I’ll post my own extended schedule next week (and update this post with a graphic for it) but one thing I want to flag now— I’ll be joining Bear McCreary for his panel on Saturday at 3pm in Room 6DE. Bear and I have been friends for a decade and he’s as music, comic, sci-fi nerdy as they come. This should be a really fun one!
Can’t wait to see you all in San Diego!

Q&A
Hello! I recently went to Lockport, IL on a Radiant Black themed trip and it got me thinking: If you were to plan an itinerary of places to go what would you put in there? Given the fact that some major events happen in Chicago would you include places there as well?
-Betz
Hey Betz! First of, this is an awesome question! It’s also even more awesome that you actually took this trip! Wow! This is totally the kind of thing that Alec Siegel and I would have done back in the day for any of our favorite movies— or the time we snuck onto the roof of a parking garage to scope out The Dark Knight set and maybe almost got arrested (a story for another time).
I gotta say— it’s a very humbling and exciting feeling to know that we’ve created something with Radiant Black that has others embarking on sight seeing expeditions of their own (hopefully without the almost getting arrested part).
So, to actually answer your question— and I have to give the caveat here that, if you do decide to go scope any of these out, please be safe and smart about it— in no particular order I would recommend these spots in Lockport—
Lockport Township High School Central Campus (but, you know, not while school is in session. Duh.)
Embers (if you park in back, you can cross the train tracks and be on the look out for your OWN Radiant!)
Lock and Mule (issue 9)
I-355 (issue 3, issue 9)
Dellwood Park (Nathan and Marshall issue 9 flashback)
The Roxy Theater (bring your own bath bomb!)
Nicky’s Gyros (Marshall and Eva in issue 11)
Saint Dennis Church (the parking lot is where Wendell sets up shop in issue 17)
Jewel on 9th street (Wendell uses the bus stop there in 17)
Amazing Fantasy Books and Comics (not in the series yet but it shall be appearing soon. Plus, you can buy and Radiant Black issues you’re missing! :)
And to answer the second part of your question, yes— I would definitely include some Chicago spots. Again, in no particular order I would say—
The Adler Planetarium (issue 5)
Vito and Nick’s on Pulaski (issue 13, best pizza)
Thornton Quarry (issue 5. just drive over it— it’s crazy impressive)
Chicago Theater (Accretion fight in 27.5)
Northerly Island (The Franklin Group’s base of operations during Catalyst War)
The Old Post Office (watch out for anything Shifty!)
There’s more in Chicago and maybe one day we can put together a bigger, official list (or plan an actual experience… hmm…) but this is a pretty good start for now.
Great question!
And if anyone else has a good one for us, please drop us a line! Or leave a comment right here:
Okay, that’s going to do it for me this week! Next week— the insanity begins!
See you on the other side!
Stay Radiant!
