Hey everyone! It’s been a minute! Apologies for the radio silence over here— we’re in the midst of wrapping up a host of projects and kicking off a few more plus finalizing some big plans for C2E2 in Chicago next week and San Diego Comic Con in July!
But before I tell you about what’s coming up in Chicago, let’s talk about a super exciting issue that’s hitting stands this week!
Moon Man #2
In stores 4/17/24
From Kid Cudi, Marco Locati, Igor Monti, Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou and myself comes the second issue of our hot new Cleveland-based superhero series, MOON MAN!
“As Ramon tests the limits of his new abilities, the astronauts return to Janus for more assessment—and the world begins to react to the news of a real-life superhero.”
We’ve got three covers on this one— the A cover (above) by Marco Locati and Igor Monti as well as a stunning B cover by Erica D’Urso and Igor Monti and a gorgeous watercolor C cover by the incredible Greg Tocchini!
For every action comes an equal and opposite reaction and as Ramon is about to start finding out this issue… that doesn’t just apply to physics.
Marco and Igor have delivered a stunning sophomore comic and I’m pumped to share some preview pages with everyone right here!
For more information on the series— as well as information on where to find your local comic store and direct links to buy the book digitally— you can head to moonmancomic.com!
Oh! And if you want to hear Scott and myself talk about the book, we’ve just posted the entire panel from our epic launch party at Revenge Of!
Deep Cuts - Collected Edition
On the heels of Deep Cuts issue 6 hitting stands last month, Michael Busuttil, Joe Clark and I have also just put the finishing touches on what I think is a stunning collected edition that comes in at a whopping 312 story pages (!) and features all the original lead sheets commissioned for each issue.
I know I’ve said this numerous times in interviews and across social media as well as in this newsletter, but I could not be more proud of this series. For anyone who loves music, creatives and/or humanistic stories, please make sure you snag yourself a copy of Deep Cuts.
Radiant Black 29 and 29.5
Radiant Black is still firmly in the midst of The Catalyst War, our multi-timeline event three years in the making. But as we work to put the finishing touches on issue 29 and 29.5 over the next few weeks, that means we’re now officially in the home stretch of the event.
Obviously, these issues have taken us quite a bit longer than any of us were expecting, but if you’re reading the series then you know— we’re also not pulling any punches. In fact, Marcelo Costa, Eduardo Ferigato, Rod Fernandes, Raul Angulo, Becca Carey, Joe Clark and myself only have one priority with The Catalyst War— to deliver on the promise of the premise to its fullest potential and at the level we’ve been dreaming about since we first started talking about this story. And as we get closer to our ending— and our plans for the series after that— I am thrilled to say that I think we’ve been able to do just that.
I need to be careful with spoilers here, but just to give you a taste of what I mean… here are the opening pages from issue 29, by Eduardo Ferigato and Raul Angulo.
Radiant Black 29 and 29.5 are epic and I can’t wait for you all to see the insanity.
I’ll be sending out another newsletter as we get closer to FOC to give you the exact date that you can expect them on stands.
C2E2
Next week also marks a really exciting milestone for Radiant Black— it’s going to be the first time that Radiant Black co-creator Marcelo Costa and I get to meet in person! Oh, and if you’re going to C2E2, you’ll get to be a part of it!
Marcelo and I will be in artist alley together— Marcelo is currently listed at O-08 and I’m at P-06, but we’re going to sit together for the actual show— most likely at P-06. All of our signing times are still being confirmed (save for one, which I’ll mention in a second) but we do have several more exciting opportunities to tell you about— especially if you’ve ever wanted to own a piece of original art (!!) from Marcelo.
First up— we’re putting on a massive Massive-Verse panel!
Across The Massive-Verse Panel
Sat, Apr 27, 2024
3:30 PM - 4:30 PM
S402-A
The Catalyst War rages across two timelines. Rogue Sun takes the fight to Mourningstar. Richard Roe makes his last stand. Across Massive-Verse books like RADIANT BLACK, ROGUE SUN, and NO/ONE, things will never be the same again - so don't miss your chance for a sneak peek at what's coming next!
Join Kyle Higgins (Radiant Black), Marcelo Costa (Radiant Black), Stefano Simeone (Radiant Black, Rogue Sun), Alec Siegel (COWL), Rod Reis (COWL), and Joe Clark (Radiant Black) for an exclusive panel packed with secrets and announcements!
This is a panel we’re all very excited about— if you’re at the show on Saturday you definitely don’t want to miss it.
And afterwards, Marcelo, Joe Clark and I will be heading down to my artist alley table at P-06 for a Radiant Black signing!
But that’s not all the epicness that Marcelo is going to be a part of!

Okay, as I teased above— Marcelo is also going to be opening up his commission list for C2E2 on Wednesday, April 17 via Comic Sketch Art— with limited slots for head sketches, torso drawings and full figure pieces— but as a subscriber to this newsletter… you get the first crack, TODAY!
Here’s what the price breakdown looks like:

Additionally, Marcelo and I are going to do some WhatNot and Ebay Live shows live from C2E2! There may even be some blacklight marker collaborations in store :)
Here are links about both!
Artist Alley Table
Similar to what we did at NYCC, we’ll also be offering specials on our trade paperbacks at the show and will be stocked up with Massive-Verse pins from Kelly McMahon! Plus, we’re going to have the remaining copies of our 12x18” signed and numbered screenprinted posters by Tom Whalen! Limited to 100 for Radiant Black and 100 for Rogue Sun (if there are any left over, we’ll sell them here on the Newsletter):
BATMANIA!
And, I’ve got one more bit of C2E2 insanity to tell you about today! Although, this one takes place the night before the convention—
It’s Joe Clark AND Batman's birthday and we want to celebrate ‘em both! How?! Well, with the raddest concert you're going to hear this year! How rad, you say?! Well, this sucker's gonna groove--
--even with me playing trumpet on it (!!)
Whether you're local or coming in for C2E2, this is a concert you don't want to miss!
(and yes, I'm actually playing :)
Event info is right here!
The Black Market
No new items on the Black Market shop today, but with Moon Man 2 hitting stands this week— and issue 1 very firmly sold out of all printings— now’s a great time to mention that we still have some copies of our rare Black Market Narrative x Kelly McMahon Design Variant!
The BMN x Kelly McMahon edition of Moon Man 1 is limited to 350 copies sans comps and features a sleek matte finish with spot gloss. Available through our storefront in both signed (by Kyle and Kelly) and unsigned editions!
Okay, that’s going to do it for me! Back to script pages and trumpet practice!
See you all soon!
Kyle

Man, I can't wait for that C2E2 panel next Saturday. If I had to guess, this is where we're going to get more details on Supermassive 2024, the Radiant Black Year One HC, and MAYBE the announcement of a COWL revival (but that last bit is just my wishful thinking).
Heyo! Will we ever get covers on the comics themselves for the art Tom Whalen did for Rogue Sun and Inferno Girl Red or will they only exist as prints?
