Hello From San Diego Comic Con!
We’ve got a lot to talk about.
We’ve just wrapped up our Massive-Verse Panel and if my scheduling worked right then you should be getting this just as we’re stepping off stage as the lot of us head to the Image booth to sign our 2023 SDCC exclusive poster!
It was a big panel for us with some really fun announcements that we wanted to make sure we shared with everyone who couldn’t make it to the show, as quickly as possible.
So, let’s take a look at all the big stuff happening in The Massive-Verse!
Radiant Black
Two Endings?! What’s going on?!
Okay, we said we were going to give you the answer to WHO WILL BE RADIANT BLACK? in this week’s issue 25. And we did.
But full disclosure, we also weren’t telling the full truth. For story reasons. I hope you’ll forgive me :)
Many of you have probably heard by now, but Radiant Black #25 actually features two different endings, under our A and B covers. In fact, the last five pages of the issue are different.
Under our A cover, the choice has been made— Marshall is Radiant Black.
But under our B cover, a different choice has been made— Nathan is Radiant Black.
Now, I’ve seen people speculate that this is a “What If” situation. That one cover is canon and the other is us showing the alternate ending, for fun.
But that’s not the case.
You see, the secret of the Catalyst War is that it is actually an event told across timelines.
Premier and the his Empire are about to challenge Radiant Black in a monumental way, with the fate of the world also on the line.
And for reasons that are central to the story… both timelines, coming out of issue 25, are still active.
For the next five months, we’ll be continuing with Marshall as Radiant Black under our A cover and Nathan as Radiant Black under our B cover. Eduardo Ferigato and Raul Angulo will handle art duties for the Marshall timeline and Marcelo Costa and Rod Fernandes will craft the Nathan timeline.
The different choices that these two characters make and how they impact their worlds is at the center of what this event is about.
And by the end, you will learn who won the vote and who will be Radiant Black going forward.
That is, if either one of them survives :)
But! That’s not all!
Coming this December, just in time for his appearance in The Catalyst War, our SHIFT one shot will be hitting stands!
This is a collection of the four stories that we did in the Image! Anthology as well as a new fifth story from Daniele Di Nucolo and myself, to round out the set. Our first four stories— loosely chronicling the building of a criminal startup— were titled “Founders’ Meeting,” “Launch Day,” “Working Capital,” and “Off Brand.” Our new story? What every small business owner dreams of and/or dreads: “Selling Out.”
Format wise, this one shot will be the same size as our Supermassive one shots. Meaning, it can easily slot into your bookshelf in between Radiant Black volumes 2 and 3.
Inferno Girl Red
Book 2 Announced!
As first announced by Bleeding Cool, we’ve put the band back together and we’re officially making book 2! Once again, we’ll be doing this as a Kickstarter campaign, and we’ve got a prelaunch page right here:

Rogue Sun
Ryan Parrot gave us a look at what’s coming next…
Check out these sick new designs from Abel for our next Rogue Sun arc:
The Dead Lucky
Pyre Rises
Who is PYRE? Friend? Enemy? The new antagonist of The Dead Lucky is about to turn Bibi’s world upside down.
NO/ONE
The strangest thing happened at the panel…
So, we were previewing issue 5 and this super weird thing happened. I’m just going to let it play for you here:
A Massive-Verse Card Game
And a big one to end on— revealed at the end of the panel, we’re thrilled to announce that we’ve partnered with the folks at Solis Studios to make a card game!
THE MASSIVE-VERSE FIGHTING CARD GAME, powered by the Pocket Paragons system, features 8 playable characters - RADIANT BLACK, <001>, ROGUE SUN, CATACLYSM, THE DEAD LUCKY, PYRE, INFERNO GIRL RED, and THE GRIFFIN. Each character deck features art pulled directly from the comics, plus character card art by the incredible Dan Mora!
THE MASSIVE-VERSE FIGHTING CARD GAME is coming to Kickstarter later this year - be sure to head over to massive-verse.com/pocketparagons to sign up to be notified when it launches!
Okay, that’s it for now! More on all of the above very soon! Until then, enjoy your weekend!
Stay Radiant!

Yeah...we're going to need y'all to explain how digital readers can get both sides of the story for Radiant Black and the Catalyst War, because I only got the Cover A "Marshall Wins" story via ComiXology.
I'm very interested in the answer to this as well. I've got all four volumes and only intend on getting them tpb's.
