036: Another Shot at Infinity
Radiant Pink 1, Spawn, Radiant Black 19 Fix, plus Infinite Edition drop!
Hey there, happy Friday! Or, as happy as it can be. A friend reached out last night to let me know that Kevin Conroy had passed away. The voice of Batman.
Anyone who’s read Radiant Black can probably tell how much Batman the Animated Series means to me. Heck, the entire DC animated universe. That was the principle reason I wanted to write Batman Beyond 2.0— to continue in the tradition and spirit of the series, down to Emilio Lopez dialing in our Neo-Gotham skies to match Return of the Joker. We wanted it to all feel like a lost season of the DCAU, a series of shows that I still consider to be (mostly) the defining interpretations of the DC superheroes.
And Kevin’s Batman was, for me, the linchpin of it all.
We met a few times in passing over the years through mutual friends and collaborators, but it wasn’t until earlier this year (or maybe it was last year?) that I was able to spend some time with him at a five day Galaxy Con show in North Carolina. We both have family roots in County Mayo, Ireland and for as long as I live I doubt few things will bring me greater joy than discussing farm houses and sheep with Batman.
Love and condolences to all of his friends, family, collaborators and fans.
And on a similar note— we lost Carlos Pacheco this month as well. Carlos was a legendary artist who loved superhero comics and for me, is the defining artist on the both the Avengers and the X-MEN. Straight up, Carlos’ art is what I picture when I think about what the all time best superhero comics look like.
Spanish agent David Macho was kind enough to introduce us years ago at a dinner in Chicago, and we stayed in touch here and there, always hoping to work together, but the stars never aligning. A huge influence on the way I see superhero comics but also the work that we do. He was always so kind and first and foremost, managed to remain a fan of it all.
Bummer month, right? Sigh.
All right, well— lets see if we can make it even just a tiny bit better with some new Massive-Verse stuff, yeah?
Available Now
Radiant Black #19
The first part in what I’m unofficially calling “The Road to Catalyst War.” We’ve got some really fun stuff with Nathan and Marshall, an accidental printing error (that should be a Rogue Sun mask, where’s the logos?) and maybe even some Radiant Red and Pink sightings. Big stuff coming from this arc— definitely don’t miss out!
(oh and here’s the correct page!)
And with a new issue, comes a new piece of limited Black Market merch!
Final Order Cutoff
Radiant Pink #1 - FOC on November 14th
Radiant Pink 1 is almost here! Monday is your last chance to pre-order my new favorite addition to the Massive-Verse! Meghan Camarena, Melissa Flores, Emma Kubert, Rebecca Nalty and Becca Carey are delivering an absolute lighting blast gem of a series—fun, funny, heartfelt and ultimately a story about self worth, love and the pressures we sometimes face with both.
Oh and she totally has this two places in once livestream thing down! Check it out!
Plus, yesterday we revealed— Radiant Pink’s also got a special cover collab with Spawn! Loves chains hates selfies!
Ask your shop for it today!

Radiant Black #20 - FOC on November 21st
And right on the heels of Radiant Black 19, we’ve got our final order cutoff happening the next week on Radiant Black 20 (November 20). I’ll just leave you with the title:
A Giant Goddamn Robot.
It’s a literal big one, folks.
The Black Market
Radiant Black #18 - INFINITE EDITION
Also, more good news! We still have a little bit of stock left on our Radiant Black 18 Infinite Editions!
Similar to our Black Market Blacklight Variant for Radiant Black 10, we’ll be doing drops of what we have left of the Infinite Edition.
Designed as two single images (front and back) on one long accordion fold, hand assembled to form a single loop of continuous paper that allows the time streams of Wendell’s life to pass infinitely, Radiant Black #18 INFINITE EDITION is the ultimate way to read Wendell’s story. It’s also far and away the most limited way to do so, too.
We made 250 copies of the Infinite Edition (sans comps).
And today, we’re making 20 available! Plus 10 copies of our aforementioned Blacklight Edition!
Okay, that’s going to do it for me this week. We may have a newsletter and livestream next week— but if not don’t worry, there are several rather…substantial things in the works on the Black Market side that you’re going to start hearing about pretty soon.
Until then—
Appreciate the people who matter to you and of course—
Stay Radiant!

I actually attended that GalaxyCon you mentioned from last year and getting to meet both you and Kevin Conroy in the same day was truly one of the greatest days of my life. Seeing these newsletters always brightens my day and thank you for the work you and the team at BMN put in.
