Hey everyone! Happy Friday! It’s been a big few weeks with some new releases, plus as of today— the launch of a new show. More on that in a bit.
First, let’s do a quick run through our upcoming release schedule. Year two is off to a big start.
On April 11, the the first issue of Image! came out, which means the first of four four stories featuring Radiant Black anti-hero and want to be fashion icon, SHIFT. And, Marcelo was nice enough to do the anthology’s cover. How cool is this? Michael did the trade dress as an homage to the Jim Steranko FOOM cover.
Story wise, this one was a reunion with Daniele Di Nucolo and Walter Baiamonte, my partners on Shattered Grid. But this time, we’re working on a creator owned character, exploring what it’s like to go into (villain) business for yourself. But with cooler action and probably much more murder than Daniele and Walter and I normally see. Definitely more.
And just look at that design…
Unfortunately due to deadlines, Daniele and Walter were only able to do the first story. But our second one has killer art by Francesco Manna and Danilo Beyruth, colored by Radiant Black’s own Marcelo Costa. It’s a fun one!
Then on May 4, we’ve got this beauty.

Radiant Radio Returns
One of my favorite things during my time on Power Rangers was doing the Ranger Danger Boom Rooms with Mat Groom and Michael Busuttil. Essentially, they served as deep dive director commentary breakdowns, on an issue by issue basis. Year one of Radiant Black, we were lucky enough to work with Meghan Camarena, who was kind enough to host us on her Twitch. But for year two, and a focus on this newsletter… we wanted to try something a little different.
A return to the audio format because this one… is meant to be listened to as you read along. It’s not that interactive— it’s more, we go through the issue in real time, discussing all the beats, creative decisions, and what-almost-was.
And this time, Michael and I are joined by a new audio partner, from Circle Guy News and The Invincible Podcast, Ryan Sidoti will be hosting each month.
